The Divine light in Darkness
The Panzi Foundation is the lifework of Dr Dennis Mukwege the renowned Gynaecologyst from Bukavu Congo who helped already over 40.000 Women and children all victims of rape and sexual violence. The Panzi Foundation not only helps with surgery and medical healthcare in the Panzi Hospital but also support the survivors to rebuilt their lives. Even after an attempted assassination to Dr Mukwege his life still in danger he continued helping all these women and children.
Dr Mukwege is well known for fighting for Womenrights, Globalhealth, Human rights and fights against sexual violence. He has received manny awards like the Human Rights Prizes, Civil Courage Prize and the Sakharov Prize for the Freedom of Thought. He has also 3 nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2015 he was awarded an Honorary Doctors of Laws by the Harvard University.
Tonight there will be a Benefit Documentary evening showing his documentary " THE MAN WHO MENDS WOMAN ~ THE WRATH OF SOCRATES " TONIGHT 19:00 @Cinetol Tolstraat 182 Amsterdam. This Charity event has been organised by IFMSA Medical Students of the UVA as part of the week of International Women's Day. Milagros Mundo has Donated for this evening & Sponsored funky & Fair Goodies for the Benefit Quiz for the Panzi Foundation earlier this week.
The beautiful work of Dr Mukwege and the Panzi Foundation is a true light in the Darkness. He mended victims and touched manny lifes.
