The result is the photo book "Before they pass away." A tribute to the unique tribes and cultures of the world. Milagros Mundo has a signed version of the amazing photobook "Before they pass away" by Jimmy Nelson. It lays in the shop to share it with you. Mesmerizing pictures of landscapes and amazing portraits of indigenous tribes from around the world. From 12 april till 7 september 2014 you can visit the unique exposition of Jimmy Nelsons  "Leve de mens!" at the Museum Volkenkunde in Leiden, the Netherlands. Truly a must see!!!

☆ VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE ☆

¡Viva la Virgen de Guadalupe!

Virgen de Guadelupe in the house! Señora de Guadelupe; moeder van de indianen, icoon van Mexico en beschermvrouwe van Latijns-Amerika. Haar beeltenis is herkenbaar aan haar bruine teint, haar blauwe cape vol schitterende sterren, gouden zonnestralen om haar heen, gedragen door een engel en vaak afgebeeld omringd met rood roze rozen. Een pracht plaatje om te zien. Er zijn diverse Virgen de Guadelupe producten verkrijgbaar bij  Milagros Mundo. Onlangs zijn er nieuwe beelden binnen gekomen waar de heilige maagd Maria op afgebeeld staat.

 

Het verhaal van Maria van Guadalupe

De maagd van Guadelupe word oorspronkelijk aanbeden en geadoreerd door de oorspronkelijk Indiaanse bevolking van Mexico. In de loop der eeuwen is de heilige maagd Maria van Guadalupe uitgegroeid tot nationaal symbool van  heel Mexico. Voor Latijns-Amerika is zij de beschermvrouwe. De heilige maagd Maria van Guadelupe verscheen in december 1531 aan de bekeerde Azteek, Juan Diego Cuahtlatoatzin. Guadalupe zou hem aangesproken hebben in zijn oorspronkelijk taal; Nahuathl. Ze zou hem verteld hebben om een kerk te bouwen op de plaats waar ze tot hem sprak, op de berg Tepeyacac. De bischop van Mexico geloofde Juan Diego niet, en zei hem dat deze Maria maar eerst een wonder moest laten zien. Juan Diego vond toen als een wonder, want het was destijds winter, rozen op de berg Tepeyacac. Hij plukte de rozen  en droeg ze in zijn cape naar het paleis van de bischop. Toen hij zijn mantel opende was er een afbeelding van Virgen de Guadelupe te zien in zijn mantel. De mantel "Tilma" wordt vandaag de dag nog steeds bewaard in de Basiliek van Guadalupe in Mexico-City.
